Minnesota State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
The CE Shop is an approved school in Minnesota: Code/Approval Number: 21006660
Every two (2) years, 30 clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.
· Real Estate Continuing education hours must be completed every other year by June 30th (year due depends on individual licensee), with one (1) hour during each license period in law or regulation on agency representation and disclosure, and one (1) hour in state and federal fair housing laws, regulations, and rules, other anti-discrimination laws, or courses designed to help licensees meet the housing needs of immigrant and other underserved populations.
· Licensees are required to have at least 15 hours completed within the first year (12 months) of the license cycle.
Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.
Real estate course completions are recorded with the Minnesota Department of Commerce each business day. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.
Please enter your individual Minnesota license number (NOT MLS number) correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process to ensure the reporting of your hours takes place. Minnesota license numbers should be eight (8) digits. For reporting purposes, please leave out any letters, dashes, or periods from the license number.
